"Breath they had not, spirit they had not;  Blood, nor bearing, nor fresh complexions Breath gave Odin, spirit have Hænir,  Blood gave Lodur, and fresh complexions" - Voluspa, stanza 18  Breath is incredibly important in a lot of cultures around the world, and finding a Nordic breathwork is an essential way to connect with Odin. Another aspect of the Cult of Odin is asphyxiation, as a way of connecting with him as the Hanged God. The breath can represent Odin's search for wisdom, as well as his role as a psychopomp. Breathwork practitioners today use pranayama and other techniques to help move and release stuck emotions through the body. But breathwork is also a powerful initiator for ecstatic trance, and can therefore be a way of journeying into the spirit realm. In this talk, learn more about different forms of breathwork, using the breath to help regulate the nervous system, and using breath for both active trance and meditation. Come in comfortable clothes that will allow you to breathe deeply.
