Since ancient times our ancestors have used incense in ritual and their daily lives.  For the Ancient Egyptians the burning of incense was a way to the help the gods manifest in the devotional statues they hade created for them. In this class we will explore the use and creation of incense (and perhaps a little history) as a tool "to make divine"; to enhance our lives and practice, to bring the "breath of the gods" into our spaces. We will primarily look at the creation and use of "traditional" incense: resins, woods and herbs that require an external heat source like charcoal, but we will also touch on the creation and use of other forms.
 
About the Presenter:
Robbie has been a seeker and practioner for nearly 40 years, beginning the journey with an early interest in the myth cycles of Ancient Greece. He has continued to make a study of various arts, from Astrology to The Tarot while developing a personal practice that focuses on aspects of ancestor reverence as well as interacting, more generally, with the dead and other non-human persons.
