Communing with the Green Dead: Plant & Land Spirits as First Ancestors

This presentation reframes ancestor work through ecological ancestry, turning first toward the land-spirits and plant-elders who have witnessed our peoples far longer than our human lines. This approach is especially supportive for those with harmful, complex, or disconnected human ancestry, offering a safer and more grounded entry point into ancestral practice. We’ll explore historical examples of plant ancestors and “green dead” across different bioregions & sources, with respectful reference for cross-cultural context. Woven throughout the session will be mindful & guided pauses to honor the green ancestors while providing space for attendants to feel into the their resonance and explore the plant’s role in their own ancestry.
