Johann Georg Hohman is synonymous with the 19th century Pennsylvania Dutch (German - Palatine Deutsch) folk system of healing and sympathetic magic publishing "Der Lange Verborgene Freund" (The Long Hidden Friend) in 1820. However, little is known of "Haus Apotheke" previously published as as democratization of the trifecta of cultural significance for Eastern Appalachian immigrant Germans with a confluence of heart, hearth, and husbandry. The support beam of folk magic. Originally an oral tradition, “powwow” medicine is often conflated as the single healing tradition of the region, limiting resources to the actual ancestral definition. Folk healing and commoners ritual is a constant pursuit of inherent activity that celebrates mundanity together with cultural magic. This presentation is a story of rural “hex bau,” essentially a housebuilding of the whispered craft within the kitchens, barns, and dirt lore of the braucherei (healing) and hexerei (witchcraft) of the PA Dutch. The discussion emphasizes the three principles of Pennsylvania family folk healing and magic; a homespun by-the-fire narrative of bowl, book, and hoof.

She is currently teaming with an artist in Norway, Katz Plunkett, to create an indie "oracle" deck, titled "Daemonium hortus".
