About the event

Archaeologist Scott R. Ferrara presents the history of witchcraft in Colonial New York. In this lecture, you will learn a brief overview of life ways during the 1600's in New England and New York, cultural responses to witchcraft by Native Americans, Enslaved African people, and European Settlers, types of anti-witchcraft artifacts that have been recently excavated from historic structures, and the stories of several  people accused of witchcraft in New York State during the colonial  period.
