In preparation for the soon to be released 'Procession of the Night Theatre: An Exposition on the Lunar Stations' (upcoming Revelore Press 2024), I will discuss the ongoing narrative tradition of Alf Layla wa Layla (1001 Nights) and the magic, lore, and potency therein. Though the Nights form a large corpus of diverse story spanning the cultural spectrum, we find repetitive magical themes in relation to the jinn, dream, astral-travel, and sorcery. This class will explore these same themes and how they are still both relevant and operant in our contemporary moment.
