Suspiria: Exploring the Film and its Meaning

Luca Guadagnino's 2018 film Suspiria (a remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 giallo classic of the same name), is a deeply sensual exploration of the Sorcerous Body. Through the language of dance, the film, charged with Damien Jalet’s evocative choreography, showcases a connection between physicality and will that lends itself to a distinctly Martial analysis. This lecture dissects Suspiria’s stylized portrayal of ritualized movement and seeks to translate it (at least in essence) into a language of applied spirit work rooted in the mysteries of bone, blood, and sweat.
