About this Presentation:
In this hands-on workshop, participants will discover the art of crafting vibrant inks and natural stains from botanical sources. While focusing primarily on ink-making, we'll explore the broader world of natural pigments - from resin-based writing inks to root-derived fabric dyes and wood stains for bone and wood. Learn to extract and preserve pigments using traditional methods, understand the chemistry of mordants and binders, and experiment with pH modifiers to create color variations. Participants will create their own natural inks and explore various application techniques for art, calligraphy, and magical workings. Perfect for artists, illuminators, and all works of the Arte Magical.
