In recent years, the need to lay a harmless gloss over witchcraft has faded, as more people embrace the figure of the witch as a subversive, transgressive, and even dangerous force. The diabolical images of magic workers across history that were once shied away from are now being embraced. But to what end? This lecture will discuss subversive images and instances of the witch through history, giving us threads of inspiration to cultivate our own power for personal and political change.
