A two-headed presentation from Dr Alexander Cummins and Brian Johnson on  the Anglo-Germanic corpus of handbooks of conjuration and folk magic called the Faustian grimoires.

Delving into the practical demonology of these texts, this class will  explore their workings of traditional exorcism and spirit conjuration to summon treasure spirits, send forth devils, and help haunting ghosts move on.  Comparisons of the working practices and protocols found in the Black Raven, Magia Naturalis et Innaturalis, the Compendium of Unnatural Black Magic, and other Faustian grimoires will be drawn and considered in contexts of broader grimoiric tomes, techniques, and tools.

We invite you to join us - of your own free will - for this feathered feast of Germanic exorcism and cryptograms; of geists, ghasts, and Goethe; of folk nigromancy and the planetary magic of haunted houses;  and much much more of such devilries in the details...
