Kobold. Kabouter. Domovoi. Tomte. Nisse. While they may have different  names, nearly all cultures have some sort of tradition honoring the spirit of a dwelling. Whether you find them residing in the rafters or napping under the stove, people throughout history have turned to  helpful household spirits for peace and prosperity... And the occasional revenge on rude or dishonest neighbors. This class will be a celebration of gnome stories which will offer insights on how to  cultivate relationships with, and stay in the good graces of, the Little  Men of Earthly Magic... Or how to cast them out should they become too unruly for you and your community.
 
About the Presenter:
Nay is a modern day cunning woman and plant-loving digital nomad who can most often be found evangelizing about herbalism and a variety of esoteric topics (okay -- mostly gnomes!) online. Descended from sea-faring story tellers, she is most heavily influenced by the folkloric traditions of the North Sea, Trolldom, as well as Traditional, Sabbatic, and Stellar Witchcraft. She is delighted to be back at the Salem Symposium to share her latest research with a wider audience.
