Witches and Fairies often overlap in Greek folk traditions, giving human practitioners of the witching arts an otherworldly status. This presentation is an overview of the roles and stories witches and fairies hold in Greek folk customs, the magic performed for and against them, as well as the ways these can be adapted or used as inspiration for the contemporary practitioner. Drawing upon the rich folklore of Greece as well as local and family customs and folk magic, Stefanos Chelydoreus seeks to share a glimpse of oft-unseen Greek magic that can provide new avenues for the folkloric witch of today.
 
About the Presenter:
Stefanos Chelydoreus is a devotional polytheist, witch, mystic, and theologian from Athens, Greece with over 18 years of experience. His practice is centered on Mediterranean polytheism with a focus on ancient Hellenic religion, theurgy, witchcraft, and Greek folk magic. Primarily devoted to Hekate, he is the creator of the Equine Serpent, and writes regularly on polytheistic theology, magic, witchcraft, and polytheistic mysticism.
